Who is responsible
Dr N Aziz, publisher and editor of SAS Doctors Review, is the data controller for personal information sent directly to the publication. Privacy requests can be sent to editor@sasdoctors.com.
Information the public website does not collect
The public site does not provide reader accounts, a newsletter database or a web contact form. It is not designed to receive patient details, individual employment cases or confidential documents. Information entered into interactive learning tools is processed within the reader’s own browser and is not transmitted to or stored by SAS Doctors Review. Website statistics do not include names, email addresses, persistent visitor identifiers, IP addresses, full referrer addresses, search terms, quiz answers, scores or individual page journeys.
Browser-only learning records
If a reader permits optional browser storage, learning progress, knowledge-check scores and entries they explicitly choose to save remain in local storage in that browser profile. They do not follow the reader to another browser or device, and the website operator cannot view or recover them. Readers can decline this storage and still use the content and assessments. Choosing “essential only” removes the optional SAS Doctors Review records listed in the cookie and browser-storage notice.
Aggregate website statistics
The site records first-party, aggregate statistics to understand which pages and downloads are useful and where usability should improve. Measures include page views, estimated time with the page visible (which can include idle time), approximate scroll depth, downloads, knowledge-check completion without answers or scores, broad device class, referring source category, country and region. Approximate city data is shown only when at least ten page views contribute to a row. The site does not create visitor profiles, recognise a reader across visits or combine location with an individual browsing history. Statistics are merged directly into daily or monthly totals rather than retained as raw event logs.
Purpose, legal basis and your choice
Aggregate statistics are used solely to improve and maintain the publication. Optional statistics are off until the reader gives consent in privacy settings. Consent is the basis for the optional statistical activity and can be withdrawn at any time. Necessary hosting and security processing is separate and relies on legitimate interests in delivering and protecting the service. Clear information is provided and every reader can object free of charge by selecting essential only or turning off anonymous statistics in cookie settings. The site continues to work after an objection.
Technical information
The hosting and security providers may process an IP address, browser or device information, request time, requested page and security events where necessary to deliver, secure and troubleshoot the service. The website uses an IP address transiently for short-term abuse-rate control but does not write it to the analytics database. A raw user-agent string is reduced to the broad categories desktop, mobile or tablet and then discarded. SAS Doctors Review does not use advertising, cross-site tracking, fingerprinting or behavioural profiling.
Statistics retention
Daily website totals are kept for up to 13 months so seasonal and year-on-year use can be understood. Monthly location totals are kept for up to 14 months. Older totals are deleted. Because no persistent identifier or raw event history is held, the publication cannot identify a particular reader in these reports or retrieve an individual browsing record.
Email and editorial correspondence
If you email the publication, Microsoft 365 processes your email address, message, technical delivery information and any attachments you choose to send. This information is used to respond, assess corrections or contributions, and maintain necessary editorial records. The usual lawful basis is legitimate interests in operating an independent professional publication. A legal obligation, contract or consent may apply in a particular context.
Routine enquiries are normally deleted within 12 months after resolution. Records needed to document a correction, publication decision, permission, rights agreement, complaint or dispute may be retained for up to six years where necessary and proportionate.
Sharing and international processing
Information may be processed by providers used for email, hosting, security and technical operation, and disclosed where required by law or necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal rights. It is not sold. Providers may process information outside the UK using applicable contractual and legal safeguards.

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct or erase personal information, restrict processing, object to processing, or receive portable information.
